How This Calculator Works
This tool generates Open Graph (OG) images following the protocol defined at ogp.me. The standard OG image size is 1200×630 pixels (1.91:1 aspect ratio), with a recommended minimum of 600×315 and maximum file size of 8 MB. Images are rendered using the HTML5 Canvas API and downloaded as PNG. All generation is client-side.
Frequently Asked Questions
What size should my OG image be?
1200×630 pixels is the Facebook and Twitter standard (1.91:1 ratio). This displays well on all platforms. Some platforms also recommend 1200×1200 for square formats. Keep file size under 1 MB for fast loading.
How do I add an OG image to my website?
Add these meta tags to your HTML head: <meta property="og:image" content="https://example.com/image.jpg"> and <meta property="og:image:width" content="1200"> and <meta property="og:image:height" content="630">. Twitter uses twitter:card with summary_large_image.
Why is my OG image not showing on Facebook?
Facebook caches OG images aggressively. Use the Facebook Sharing Debugger (developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/) to force a re-scrape of your URL. Also ensure your image URL is absolute (starts with https://) and publicly accessible.
